Frequently Asked Questions

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ATTEND A DIALOGUE WITHOUT BEING A PENN STATE STUDENT?

Unfortunately we do not run enough programs throughout the semester for the general public because of the amount of students who need to have dialogues for grades. However, please fill out our non-student contact form and label the subject as “Tailored Program” for private businesses and organizations.

DO I HAVE ALL SEMESTER TO ATTEND A WORLD IN CONVERSATION dialogue?

No. Your class has a certain window of time to attend. The emails you receive from World in Conversation state the last day you are able to sign up for a dialogue. The earlier you sign up to attend, the more availability you will have to choose from to be able to attend a dialogue within the dates available for your class.

WHEN I LOG ONTO THE REGISTRATION SITE I DON’T SEE ANY GROUPS LISTED (“NO DATA IS AVAILABLE”).

Check your syllabus and see when your end date was to attend a conversation. If that end date has passed then you have missed the deadline to attend for your course. However, still fill out the form above or call 814-865-5692 as opportunities to attend may still be available.

WHAT DO I DO IF ON THE REGISTRATION SITE IT SAYS THAT ALL OF THE CONVERSATIONS ARE “FULL”?

Be patient! If you have not passed your deadline to attend then we will be posting more groups (approximately every 48 hours). Please check back regularly. You will have a chance to register.

WHY IS THE REGISTRATION SITE NOT ALLOWING ME TO LOG IN WITH MY PSU WEB-ACCESS INFO (IE. PSU EMAIL AND PASSWORD)?

In order to log in to the World in Conversation registration site you need to create a password using your Penn State email address. If you have lost the initial email where you can create the password then at the sign in page click the “Forgot Password” link and create a password from there.

WHEN I TRY TO RE-SET MY PASSWORD I NEVER RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH THE LINK TO DO SO.

Fill out the form above. Your password will be manually changed/updated.

I ATTENDED A CONVERSATION, BUT I AM STILL GETTING EMAILS THAT SAY I NEED TO REGISTER AND/OR THE REGISTRATION SITE SAYS “I FAILED”.

Attendance takes about 48 hours to update, so if you check the day after it may not have been updated yet.
